AMDEX Corporation is seeking a skilled UNIX Administrator to be responsible for the support of a secure, stable and mission-critical environment that supports business processes and objectives on a 24x7x365 basis. The primary task is to provide systems monitoring activities in the area of UNIX systems and applications support within a Situation Room. This position requires constant monitoring of all systems and the ability to anticipate, evaluate, and resolve problems of a complex nature.

Responsibilities

  • Requires UNIX server configuration and installation support

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Solaris, AIX, Linux

  • All UNIX operating systems and 3rd party software will be supported

TECHNICAL WRITER (CC032)

LOCATION: Springfield, VA


AMDEX Corporation is seeking a Technical Writer / Documentation Analyst to work on a large scale Data Center contract in Springfield, VA. Duties include developing preliminary requirements, review procedures, test and evaluate instruction and guidelines, analyze the performance of guidelines and instructions, document procedures, instructions, guidelines, and perform operations analysis and other studies for areas that impact the operations, scheduling, and distribution functions of the Data Center .

SHIFT MANAGER / OPERATIONS MANAGER (CC033)

Location: Springfield, VA

AMDEX Corporation is currently seeking Shift Managers for a long-term, exciting Data Center contract involving the protection of our borders. This position requires both U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a clearance. The position is located in Springfield, VA and requires flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shifts. This is a great opportunity to enhance your leadership abilities, strengthen your technical skills, and work on a project that plays a role in the protection and safety of our country.

Responsibilities:

The Shift Manager will provide leadership for a 2nd and 3rd level team of 6-7 support personnel that provides 24x7 support for the customer’s multi-platform environment. The team monitors systems and application monitors (Tivoli, System Consoles, Managed Objects, TMON, etc.) and investigates error messages. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that errors related to z/OS, MVS, UNIX, LINUX, CICS, DATACOM, and MQ are resolved quickly within the team or are escalated to the appropriate personnel with a goal of zero downtime.

The Shift Manager is accountable for and has ownership to:

  • Perform as Point of Contact (POC) for the assigned shift, reporting to the AMDEX Program Manager

  • Facilitate work flow and ensure communication of issues within the department and to outside support resources

  • Delegate responsibility, organize resources, prioritize work efforts, ensure coverage for each area of responsibility, and manage shift turnover to alert oncoming shift of all issues/events

  • Participate in problem bridge calls

  • Ensure management is informed of critical issues and that standards are utilized between all shifts for escalation and operational processes

  • Participate in the development process for new policies and mandates for the department

  • Track and addresses issues/concerns for the assigned shift (Remedy tickets)

  • Review personnel skills and ensure training is provided when deficiencies exist due to changes in technology or operational processes

  • Keep track of project related work and critical issues that impact end users

  • Participate in interview process for new staff, perform staff appraisals, recommend disciplinary action where needed, and manage work schedules and time sheets

  • Perform special project assignments

  • Represent AMDEX at government meetings (CIO, Production Issues, etc.) when required

  • Provide input to First Shift Manager for weekly/monthly reports given to AMDEX Program Manager

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with UNIX / Linux as well as mainframes (preferably z/OS)

Contracts Administrator/Manager (HQ006)


Location: Silver Spring, MD


AMDEX Corporation is currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Contracts Administrator/Manager for our Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland.  The ideal candidate will possess a four-year degree in business or related field of study and three years experience with government contracts.  Extensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is essential to the success in this position.


Responsible for administering and monitoring contracts with various federal and commercial agencies, including but not limited to:


  • Assisting in the development and responses to RPFs, RFIs, and RFQs

  • Monitor contracts and services for compliance

  • Lead and conduct pricing proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and administration of GSA and other IDIQ contracts

Responsible
This is a very hands-on position that requires strong technical knowledge and experience working with a full spectrum of open source and system management technologies. The candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Configuring and deploying the Managed Objects suite of products

  • Deploying existing integrations to third-party platforms such as Netcool, Remedy, Tivoli TEC,etc.

  • Evaluate the architecture of third-party platforms to identify integration points

  • Leveraging Managed Objects products to develop integrations to new data-sources

OOAD Software Engineer

The Situation Room Manager will assist the Duty Officer Manger in the management of the activities of all situation room personnel; oversee the work accomplished by situation room personnel (including subcontractor resources); ensure that assigned personnel meet project milestones, budgets, and deliverables; and ensure that appropriate status reports are accurate and are generated on time.
