The Data Analyst Subject Matter Expert should have a a strong background in public health research, including the content of research reports as well as the information needs of health researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other public health partners in the area of vaccine usage to include seasonal vaccines as well as healthcare database and web applications.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary analysis of data and produce a report examining data quality and summarizing problems in collection, weighting, or programming
  • Conduct analyses and provide results in table format for inclusion into MMWR and surveillance summary focused on seasonal and H1N1 vaccine usage and influenza experiences by pregnant women during the 2009/2010 flu season 
  • Work with the CDC PRAMS staff, state PRAMS staff, and the staff of the immunization program to analyze data for publications and presentations geared towards professional audiences
  • Produce data tables for 1-2 reports and 1-2 PowerPoint presentations
  • Develop an analytic results summary report for each state PRAMS project to use for flu data dissemination; deliver report to states and CDC partners at Georgia State Policy Institute
  • Conduct analysis and produce a report of results in table format for 1-2 journal articles, looking at correlates of H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccination coverage and influenza experiences of pregnant women 
  • Conduct analyses and provide results in table format for inclusion into MMWR and surveillance summary focused on seasonal vaccine usage and influenza experiences by pregnant women 
Basic Qualifications
  • Data and knowledge management design and development experience using a variety of available technologies
  • Web-based applications development experience, enterprise data management experience and experience with Portal packaged solutions implementation  
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and to interact collaboratively across teams, branches, and divisions
  • Experience in analyzing PRAM related data
  • Strong communication skills
