The Public Health Analyst should have an understanding of public health research, including the content of research reports as well as the information needs of health researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other public health partners.

Responsibilities: 
  • Provide on-going data analysis, evaluation, data dissemination and technical support 
  • Assists staff in providing technical assistance to grantees. Providing user training, researching and evaluating of evolving technologies
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with staff and partners
  • Conducts literature reviews and respond to information requests
  • Develops technical and high level documentation to support programs
  • Ensures quality of research, data content, and documentation materials
  • Promote development, implementation, and utilization of electronic systems for communication; broker electronic web based connections among stakeholders; develop technical reports
  • Planning and developing emerging web- and customer-focused communication and strategies using nontraditional public health dissemination and technology channels, including electronic social networks
  • Consult on content and format of information system so that appropriate information is collected 
Requirements: 
  • Bachelors Degree in statistics or public health related field; Masters level preferred 
  • Strong understanding of public health research, including the content of research reports as well as the information needs of health researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other public health partners 
  • Knowledge and expertise in the areas of sampling, statistical analyses/programming, information retrieval and analysis, and project management 
  • Knowledge and expertise in the areas of application and database development, information retrieval and analysis, and project management
  • Expertise using SAS, Excel, and SUDAAN with experience processing and performing statistical analyses; knowledge of SAS macros preferred 
  • Knowledge of population-based surveys and statistics
